A family day out
Our parish day away will take place at Great Walstead School which is set in 250 acres of Sussex countryside close to Lindfield, near Haywards Heath. The facilities include tennis courts, a heated swimming pool, an adventure play area, lots of space for games, extensive woodland and fields for exploring and a chapel.
It’s a whole day away. Come when you can, stay as long as you like and leave when you wish.
Arrive anytime from 9.45am when coffee will be served. A family Communion Service will take place at 10.30am. Lunch will be ‘Bring and Share’ with savoury and sweet courses. Tea and cakes will be served at teatime. At the end of the day there will be a short reflection for those who wish to attend.
Activities will be available throughout the day. Options include: walks, croquet, boules or cricket, tennis or table-tennis, swimming in the afternoon, or bring your own games or book to read!
Everyone enjoys a treat. It’s good to take time away from our situations, without our usual responsibilities. It gives us a chance to relax, and to see each other in different circumstances. We’ll eat and rest and talk and be active together.
Bring along the whole family. We are planning a special activity for the children that will run through the afternoon.
